Description

Project Kat is a short, unconventional RPG horror game in which there is always another way. Solve puzzles, make friends (or not), and guide Kat as she attempts to uncover the mystery behind a strange golden letter.
Inspired by the era of classic horror RPGMaker games, Project Kat is the prologue to a full game entitled Paper Lily (currently in development). The game aims to follow in the footsteps of titles such as Ib, Yume Nikki, Mad Father, and The Witch’s House, while pushing their boundaries further.

Features

  • Solve puzzles in different ways while preparing a ritual in your school at night.
  • Your choices have an impact on the world and characters, be chaotic or befriend the girls in the club room, borrow a key or pick a lock. Play in your own way.
  • Explore the school at night, unlock the mysterious supply closet, and traverse a hallway filled with strange doors.
  • Play minigames for a change of pace: Sokoban-style minigame for rearranging the desks in the classroom, or a timing minigame for picking locks.
  • Funny writing (who said horror games can’t have a sense of humor?).

About Leef6010

A studio composed of “two idiots” who like making stuff.
We have been big fans of RPGMaker horror games since the mid 2010s. These became the founding inspirations for Paper Lily, which started off as a little side hobby that snowballed into the complex game that it is today. In March of 2020 we released Project Kat, a prologue for Paper Lily. After its overwhelmingly positive reception, we decided to continue developing this rest of the game. Paper Lily runs on Godot Engine, and uses a custom framework we developed to emulate the feel of old school RPGs while keeping the freedom to introduce more complex mechanics and visuals.
